Create Special Memories with Your Children Every Day with These Helpful five Ideas
Parenting is a roller coaster of a ride, trust me, I know! Each day is different than the last, yet each day seems to blend together into a never-ending one that goes on forever. Now, don’t get me wrong, I love my little ones, but I have found that I need to switch things up each day to keep all of us happy and content.
Here are a few helpful ideas that I have found to work as I create special memories with my children every day:
Carry on a Conversation
Okay, so my little one Rehaan isn’t at the point where he can carry on much of a conversation yet, but my oldest is Haniah, and I cherish our talks. We talk about the weather, what we can buy at the store, our relatives, and anything else that either one of us thinks about. Of course, my little girl can come up with some amazing topics, so I am never sure where our conversations are going to go. However, that makes it fun and allows us to both have a good laugh most days.
Impromptu Dance Parties
Dancing can be quite fun, and I find that whenever my little ones are cranky or miserable, this is an excellent way to get them smiling again. While turning on some music is always helpful, I have discovered that listening to imaginary music helps just as much! Give it a try, so you can see for yourself how much fun everyone can have with no additional noise!
Look at Baby Photos
Young children love looking at pictures of babies and other children. My daughter loves looking at her’s and her brother’s, but she also loves to look at the ones that I have of myself. I am planning on creating a photo album for my daughter soon, with these baby pictures and a few of her relatives so that she can look at them whenever she wants to. This idea might even grant me a few minutes of peace one day….
Enjoy a Picnic Lunch or Snack
I don’t know about you, but lunchtime and snack time can get pretty routine in our home. That is why I love switching things up a little with picnics. I spread a blanket out on the floor and we all sit there eating. The mess is contained, the children are happy, and cleanup is easier than you will think!
Build a Fort
I understand that children should sleep in their own beds for their naps, but have you ever had one of those days where they just did not want to go into their room? I have, and it is never a pretty sight! My solution to this is to have my daughter help me build a fort so that she has somewhere new to sleep for that day. You may even find that you want to curl up right next to your children when you are finished.
These are only a few of the hundreds of options that are out there that you can use to create special memories with your children every day. Most of these options will not take a lot of time, yet your children will remember them in the future.
